- What’s On
The Culinary Arts Centre (YESAM) is organising a two-day trip to the historical pine forests of the Kozak region, located in the northern part of Izmir. The trip will include harvesting pine nuts in the vast pine forests found in Kozak – according to local lore, these forests were the heritage of Zeus, and the nuts coming from this area are considered to be the most delicious and fragrant pine nuts in the world – and sampling the local cuisine.
There will also be a visit to the ancient city of Pergamon.
The tour is limited to 14 participants and includes flights between Istanbul and Izmir, accommodation, museum entrance fees, meals, guide fees, travel insurance and transfers.
Nedim Atilla is an independent researcher, journalist and author specialising in the culture of food and wine. He is also the author of the first book dedicated solely to pine nuts.
