Pop Art for Everyone

Andy Warhol

May 7, 2014 – July 20, 2014

The Pera Museum, Meşrutiyet Cad 65, Tepebaşı, Beyoğlu, Istanbul

The paragon of pop art, Andy Warhol, gets a look in at Pera Museum’s spring/summer exhibition.

The exhibition is composed of selected works from the Zoya Museum Private Collection in Slovakia, Modra (Warhol’s parents emigrated from Slovakia to the States). Included are his silkscreen series and drawings, all exhibited in Turkey for the first time. His iconic works such as ‘Campbell’s Soup’, ‘Cowboys and Indians’, ‘Endangered Species’ and ‘Flowers’, and portraits of well-known figures are also displayed.

Andy Warhol’s (1928–1987) artistic productivity was vast and impressive. More than 20 years after his death, he remains to be one of the most influential figures in contemporary art and culture. One not to miss.
