- What’s On
A group exhibition of Pi Artwork’s selected artists including Nancy Atakan, Osman Dinç, Nejat Sati, Horosan and Ümmühan Yörük, partly curated by the artists themselves. Prices range from TL2,000 TL to TL70,000.
Nancy Atakan displays her Scarves series, which depict her family members wearing European styled silk headscarves that were first manufactured in Turkey in the 1930s. The series aims to reflect the transformation transposed on such everyday items as scarves.
Osman Dinç’s new minimalist iron sculptures bring various figural issues to the forefront – gravity, balance, suitability and durability of material.
Nejat Satı’s new painting series Melancholy is the continuation of his previous abstract series, which alluded to shattered glass or an exploding on a surface.
Horasan’s collage and paintings are from his last solo show at Pi Artworks in London. The exhibition showcased a series of portrait paintings that focused on the human body and the toll times takes.
Ümmühan Yörük’s self-portrait works made from polyester draw on her interest in identity and self-questioning.
