Surface Phenomena

Ali Taptık

January 23, 2014 – March 1, 2014

The Empire Project, Defterdar Yokuşu No 35, Cihangir, Istanbul

Turkish photographer Ali Taptık’s new series ‘Surface Phenomena’, is a continuation of his prior series’ ‘Kaza ve Kader’ and ‘Nothing Surprising’.

‘Surface Phenomena’ is a fragmented narrative bringing together themes as diverse a technology, sustenance and flora along with bibliophiles’ documentation of various books. The works are comprised of a selection of Taptık’s high-definition photographs which are reinterpreted as a low-resolution visual constellation, alongside the artist’s own texts.

All works are for sale. Prices range based on the sizes of the pieces. For example, 30 x 30 are €700, 60 x 60 cm are €1.750, 90 x 90 cm are €2.600 and 120 x 120 cm are €3.250 (not including VAT).
