Prof. Ingela Nilsson, the Director of the Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul, gives a lecture on the shift in attitude towards Byzantine novels. As Prof. Nilsson says, ‘The twelfth-century novels in particular have been subject to an increasing interest… they are now accepted as central works of an experimental and sophisticated literary culture.’
The lecture begins at 5pm.
