An exhibition exploring the culture of coffee, curated by Suna Altan, with photographs by the excellent Manuel Çıtak.

A series of Saturday talks and discussions (in Turkish) is being organised around the exhibition: The author Beşir Ayvazoğlu discusses Coffee Addicts (January 9), the art historian Çiçek Akçıl Harmankaya describes Istanbul’s old coffee houses (January 16); Prof Dr Zeynep Tarım talks about statesmen and the role of coffee in the Ottoman palace (January 23); Prof D Kemalettin Kuzucu looks at the association between coffee and reading (January 30); the inspiring Egyptologist Turgay Tuna talks about coffee houses in Cairo, where he lived for many years in the 1980s (February 6); the journalist Musa Dede tackles coffee and sufism (February 13); Dr Nihal Bursa discusses coffee and material culture (February 20); and Mag. Melitta Huber Armagan focuses on Vienna (February 27).
