Today was really yesterday

Serkan Özkaya

January 23, 2014 – February 22, 2014

Galerist, Meşrutiyet Caddesi No. 67/1, Tepebaşı, Beyoğlu

Serkan Özkaya’s latest solo exhibition showcases the artist’s recent videos, sculptures, installations and photographs. The artist, who focuses on daily aesthetics in his work, enters into a mind-boggling experiment with his new works. The works are for sale and prices range between $US500 and $US35,000.

Divided into five groups and placed in five separate rooms, the works compose of seven videos exploring repetition; a hologram work in which Özkaya’s wife rendered the computer graphics; ‘The Bust of the Unfortunate Man’, which was inspired by a joke and the installation #davidandgoliath. The show also features photos taken of a recent performance by Özkaya and of his larger-scale installations. The humorous approach Özkaya takes in his sculptures and installations match the ironic narration of his photos and videos.
