- What’s On
Curated by Rudolf Frieling, the Curator of Media Arts at San Francisco’s MOMA, this exhibition marks a rare occasion in which works from SFMOMA’s media arts collection will be on view outside of the revered institution, famous for having one of the pre-eminent collections of media arts works in the world.
This exhibition at Borusan Contemporary is the exclusive presentation as the museum shares a similar commitment to artists who work with technology in their artistic practice.
The exhibition will feature major historical and contemporary media arts installations by artists such as Bill Viola, Bill Fontana, Steina Vasulka, Doug Hall and the late Jeremy Blake, famous not only for his abstract digital works by for taking his life at the tender age of 35. The works utilise technologies in different ways – from massive projections and software-based animation to large stacks of television monitors.
