Where am I?

June 9, 2014 – June 28, 2014

Kare Gallery, Abdi İpekçi Caddesi, Ada Apt. No. 22/8 K. 2, Nişantaşı

This conceptual group exhibition, as is popular at Kare Gallery, explores the place of humans in the universe.

This elusive concept of the universe has been explored in many narratives from Hesiod’s formless mass Chaos to the idea of a clockwork universe as developed by Enlightenment thinkers to the theory of the space-time continuum which rejects the concept of universality and replaces Oklidian understanding of time with the idea of a unified space-time. But what it really is? Is the universe a fixed thing or just part of our own perceptions? What is the place of human beings place in each of these theories and narratives? These and others are the questions that the exhibiting artists attempt to answer.

Artists: Can Akgümüş, Erdal İnci, Erol Eskici, İsmet Doğan, Lara Kamhi, Özge Enginöz, Yunus Emre Erdoğan and Zeynep Beler.
