- What’s On
An exhibition showcasing the work of the 18 participants who entered the Young Photographers Awards this year. Established in 2010 and administered by the Moon and Stars Project of The American Turkish Society, the way that the Awards work is that participants are firstly nominated by photography experts from their university faculty before the winners are selected by Anne Havinga (Yousuf and Estrellita Karsh Senior Curator of Photographs) and Karen Haas (Lane Curator of Photographs) from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
This year, the winner and the two runners-up have all focused on signifiers of urban change in Turkey, from gypsies camped on the fringes of Istanbul to empty rural schools around Kastamonu. Expect some powerful stuff.
