Conductor Hasan Niyazi Tyra and pianist Kenan Tatlıcı
The Aromsa Youth Chamber Orchestra (General Music Director: Cihat Aşkın), conducted on this occasion by Hasan Niyazi Tura, are to play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 12 in A major, K 414 (soloist: Kenan Tatlıcı), contemporary Turkish composer Yalçın Tura’s 1958 Suite for Orchestra, and the Suite for Strings – a four-movement work, written in 1973 and based on folk songs, by the British composer and choirmaster John Rutter (1945–).
The concert’s title is a reference to I Have a Bonnet Trimmed with Blue, the second movement of Rutter’s Suite for Strings – the work that provided the inspiration for Tura’s similarly-named Suite for Orchestra.
The aim of the Aromsa Youth Chamber Orchestra (Aromsa Genç Oda Orkestrası), founded in 2021, is to give talented young musicians the opportunity to hone their skills and gain experience of performing in public.
