Renowned as the ‘Master of Leica’, the work of late photojournalist, Ara Güler will be presented at the Tofukuji Temple in Japan until July 10, 2019. The exhibition will not only place special emphasis on Ara Güler’s iconic images of Istanbul, but will give prominence to fascinating scenes from Anatolia and different parts of the world. It will also offer a selection of significant historical portraits, including Picasso, Dali, Aşık Veysel and Nazım Hikmet. The exhibition will feature portraits of John Berger, Winston Churchill and Alfred Hitchcock, all of whom have left an indelible mark on history and culture.
The exhibition was previously in London and Paris. Following Kyoto, the exhibition will also travel to New York, Rome and Mogadishu.
