Ballon Rouge and Pi Artworks present Archipelago, a solo exhibition of sculptures by Ana Čvorović (b. Sarajevo 1981).
Čvorović’s work is both metaphorical and physical, inviting the viewer to explore what lies beneath the surface. The sculptures in the show are from a project entitled Borders Unfold, created during her lockdown in London. Having come to the UK with her family to flee the civil war in Yugoslavia in 1989, she focues on ideas around displacement, dispossession and migration.
Ana Čvorović was shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award and in 2018 received the a-n Artist Bursary Award. She has exhibited her work widely in the UK and Internationally.
Pi Artworks, an International gallery based in London and Istanbul, ‘aims to create a programme to initiate social change’. Ballon Rouge was launched as a nomadic gallery in 2017 before settling in Brussels.
