The Bachçede Summer Festival invites music lovers to the Sakıp Sabancı Museum Müzesi Fıstıklı Teras to enjoy the melodios sounds of Istanbul’s summers. The cleverly named festival celebrates the timeless classical composer “Bach” and the Turkish word for garden, “Bahçe”. This play on words translating to “Bach in the garden”. However, this year, classical music will not be the only genre performed. Jazz musicians will also be included in the bouquet of musicians selected.
Cellist Jiri Barta and pianist Terezie Fialova, are widely loved for their lively renditions of Bach. The festival opens with two concerts. These will be followed by performances from jazz musicians Davul Zurna Jazz and Bela Bartok. The jazz portion of the festival will come to a close with world-famous pianist Can Çakmur’s piano performance. The festival will take place from September 10th onwards.
