Esen Kıvrak (1st violin), Nilary Sancar (2nd violin), Çağ Erçağ (cello) and Efdal Altun (viola) explore a 19th century full of colour and emotion: Crisantemi, Puccini’s gift to chamber music, the String Quartet in E-flat Major of a remarkable, leading female composers of the same period, Fanny Mendelssohn, far too impressive a piece to be overshadowed by the works of her brother Felix Mendelssohn, and the String Quartet no.2 in A minor of the great master of the romantic period, Johannes Brahms.
There will be a pre-concert talk by Sungu Okan (19.00–19.30).
