Slightly more than two more months left to see Istanbul Modern’s curator’s Celenk Bafra and Demet Yıldız Dinçer’s narrative on contemporary Turkish photography. This exhibition has moved away from previous classical documentary images we’ve seen at the museum in the past, focusing on effect. ‘Through abstract topographies, fictional portraits, and inner spaces, these works do not offer an escape but rather create spaces where breathing – and pausing – become possible again.’ The artists include: Larissa Araz, İlgen Arzık, Emre Baykal, Silva Bingaz, Hasan Deniz, Umut Erbaş, Cem Ersavcı, Ece Gökalp, Cemre Yeşil Gönenli, Ege Kanar, Zeynep Kayan, Metehan Özcan, Yusuf Sevinçli, İrem Sözen, Selim Süme, Kerem Uzel, Begüm Yamanlar and Cansu Yıldıran. ‘Dreams and Places’ is not to be missed.
