‘Another world flourishing wherever he looks’ is the title of Ertürer’s solo photography show. It opened in February this year and is in its last month, ending on 16 August. Bulgur Palas’s new exhibition by Ertürer is a comprehensive selection of his photographic work spanning over 75 years. Curated by Murat Gür, Ertürer’s journey began in the 1950s within a family of photographers in Adapazar weaveing together the artist’s personal history with significant traces of Turkey’s social and cultural atmosphere. Spanning from fairs to public squares, street vendors to children’s games, and the light of Istanbul to the rhythm of urban life, this vast visual world reveals Ertürer’s powers of calm, attentive, and patient observation. At the age of 90, Ertürer’s clear and passionate gaze—which sustains his enduring relationship with photography—transforms the exhibition “Another World Where He Looks” from a mere retrospective into a poetic representation of a life’s bond with light.
