This month the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures will be showing Deniz Gamze Ergüven’s 2015 film, Mustang. Five sisters living in a remote village in Turkey are treated like prisoners by their strict adult guardians, who suspect them of immoral behavior. They are soon forced to find husbands, but the siblings fight back and attempt to reclaim their freedom.
