Timothy Chattell undertook a two-month solo trek across Turkey, covering 620 kilometres from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. He documented his journey in the book ‘Thirty Degrees East’, published in 2023, and donated all profits to earthquake relief efforts by AHBAP. Tim relied on the hospitality of the people he met along the way, experiencing the warmth that characterises Turkish culture. The talk will delve into Tim’s motivations, the challenges of planning and logistics, and the valuable lessons he learned during his trek through central Anatolia.
