Louvre Abu Dhabi

Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi

Louvre Abu Dhabi opens in the United Arab Emirates’ capital in November 2017 as the first museum of its kind in the Arab world. It’s impressive complex, or ‘museum city,’ was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel with a vast metallic dome constructed out of nearly 8000 unique metal stars arranged in a complex geometric pattern.

With a collection ranging from prehistoric objects to contemporary works, with more than 600 works acquired and around 300 loaned from France’s top museums, the museum aims to highlight shared human stories across civilisations and cultures. The complex holds 23 permanent galleries, exhibition galleries, a Children’s Museum, a restaurant, a boutique and a café.
