One of Turkey’s largest opera houses, the Leyla Gencer Opera and Cultural Centre has an auditorium with good acoustics that can seat 1,000 people and an open-air stage that can seat 250. The Centre, which was constructed by the Bakırköy municipality, is named after Turkey’s most famous diva Leyla Gencer.
