The Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ari Rasilainen, accompany distinguished Turkish pianist Özgür Aydın in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 4. Then the orchestra play the Symphony No 2 by the short-lived Russian compose Vasily Kalinnikov (1866-1901), whose works are notable for ‘expressive melodies and lush orchestration’. This event, one of the Denizbank Concerts, is a tribute to Turkish pianist Arın Karamürsel, who passed away in March 2023.
