Launched in 2015, the 2019 edition of the ARTANKARA International Contemporary Art Fair saw 125 galleries exhibiting some 4,500 works by more than a thousand artists, and more than 50,000 visitors. 2020 was hit by Covid, but still drew 18.500. This year will be tougher still but a lively programme of events is planned, The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Paradox’. With its brand new concert hall, the capital is regaining its foothold in the arts.
