This event, organised to celebrate the 19 May public holiday (‘Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day’), is one of the DenizBank Concerts, which showcases the talents of young Turkish musicians. The programme consists of a movement from a flute concerto by the Italian composer Saverio Mercadante (1795-1870); a movement from a bassoon concerto attributed to Rossini; Saint-Saëns’s Rondo Capriccioso (which features a prominent violin solo part); a movement from Chopin’s Piano Concerto No 1; a work by the French flautist and composer Jules Auguste Demersseman (1833-1866) entitled Solo de Concert No 6; and Saint-Saëns’s Violin Concerto No 3. The performers will be Ayben Sever (flute), Aygül Yeniev (flute), Efe Şen (piano), Nil İpek Şabi (violin), Selin Akin (bassoon) and Yağmur Tuna (violin).
