Food, emotion, colour…, or to put another way, race body and consumption. In scenes from everyday life Francis Bacon meets the world of comic cartoons in rumbustuous, curvaceous world of sweets and bottoms. The Peterborough-born Olivia Sterling is admired for a bold, loud, fearless commentary on society and the consumability of food and flesh. As Eddy Frenkel writes in Time Out, ‘You never know when to laugh or cry.’ This is her first show in Istanbul. She will certainly bring a punchy new aesthetic to an Istanbul collector’s salon.
