Daire Gallery

Boğazkesen Caddesi No. 76A, Tophane, Beyoğlu

Tue–Sat 11.00–19.00

About halfway up Boğazkesen Caddesi, which starts at the bottom of the hill in Tophane and goes all the way up to the Galatasaray High School.

In an open, inviting space with top-to-bottom windows, Daire (literally translating to ‘apartment’) Gallery is an intimate art space established to support contemporary and independent artworks – like many of its counterparts on Boğazkesen Caddesi and Karaköy/Tophane in general.

Selin Söl founded the gallery in 2008. Besides staging solo shows of her artists, Söl is interested in curating conceptually focused exhibitions that question cultural and social matters within the different frameworks of art.

As with many new or smaller galleries, Daire is dedicated to representing emerging Turkish artists and its modest roster includes Sibel Horada, the photographer Cemre Yeşil and Funda Alkan. Daire has also hosted the fist solo exhibitions of a number of young artists, not all of them represented by the gallery.
