The Aga Khan Museum is dedicated to the acquisition, preservation and display of artefacts from various periods and parts of the world relating to the intellectual, cultural, artistic and religious heritage of Islamic communities, particularly of the Ismaili community.

The museum, designed by Fumihiko Maki and opened in 2010, also houses the collection of the Aga Khan family, of which the current head, Aga Khan IV is the 49th Imam of Nizari Ismalism.
