British Library

96 Euston Road, NW1 2DB (next to St Pancras station)

The literary arm of the British Museum and depository of all printed material in the UK is worth a visit to see its collection of manuscripts in the Treasures Gallery and its regular exhibitions. Among its many rare items are illuminated manuscripts from the world’s religions and such curiosities as the beautifully illustrated A briefe relation of the Turckes, their Kings, Emperors or Grandsigneurs, their conquests, religion, customes, habbits at Constantinople, etc by Peter Mundy, from 1618. There are also regular talks.
