Jan Matejko House

Tues–Sat 10–6, Sun 10–4, closed Mon

A few minute’s walk from the main square of Krakow, and ten minutes from the railway station.

One of Poland’s three great painters of the 19th century, the history painter Jan Matejko’s house is built on the same scale as Leighton House in London (without the garden), and a splendid patricarchal air about it. Emperors could comfortably be accepted.
