Neues Museum

Neues Museum, Bodestr 1, 10178 Berlin, Germany

The Neues Museum could be regarded as one of the architectural wonders of the contemporary world. The restoration of this bombed-out building by architectural wunderkind David Chipperfield is nothing short of staggering. The museum lays host to Berlin’s enviable collections of art from ancient Egypt and classical antiquity, and has been elegantly and conceptually curated: the famous bust of Nefertiti, the wife of the Sun-King Akhenaten, stares down a long corridor at a colossal statue of Helios, the roman sun god.
