Ai Petri

By car or cablecar. The road from the interior winds its way up through stunning forests.

Every Ukrainian schoolchild knows that Ai Petri is 1,234 metres high. Whether you reach it gradually from the north, climbing the steep forest road out of the stupendously beautiful valley of the Kökköz River, or dramatically sprinting up the hairpin bends from the south, the air is brisk enough to leave you with a healthy appetite. Splendid şaşlık (shashlyk) kebabs are offered by Tatar families under makeshift canvas, washed down with Doksan Beş green tea. Paradise found.
