Professor Michael Rogers was the Nasser D. Khalili Professor of Islamic Art and Archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He was also the Deputy Keeper in the Department of Oriental Antiquities, at the British Museum, and taught islamic art for many years at the American University in Cairo.
His publications include The Spread of Islam, Islamic Art and Design 1500-1700, Suleyman the Magnificent, Mughal Miniatures (1993) and Empire of the Sultans: Ottoman Art in the Khalili Collection (1995). His most recent book is the catalogue of an exhibition, The Arts of Islam. Treasures from the Nasser D Khalili Collection (Abu Dhabi 2008).
