Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive

The Arif Mardin Music Fellowship

April 1, 2020

Berklee College of Music, 155 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts

Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive is the world’s most comprehensive summer music performance programme, and it runs from 11 July to 14 August 2020. From one-on-one instruction with Berklee’s renowned faculty to a rigorous curriculum offering college credit, this immersive programme will enhance students’ instrumental or vocal performance mastery. The programme includes a mix of private instruction, instrumental labs, ensembles, theory, performance and musicianship training, and it culminates with a final week of concerts.

The Arif Mardin Music Fellowship aims to further the education of promising musicians from Turkey by providing an opportunity to study in the Aspire programme at Berklee in Boston. Mardin’s own successful music career began there, as the first recipient of the Quincy Jones Scholarship. The scholarship was launched in 2007 in memory of Arif Mardin and includes tuition, housing, and fees, as well as a stipend, for the five-week program. Fellows are selected by the Berklee through an application process each spring.

Applications are due 1 April and should be submitted to Berklee.
