The Cuarteto SolTango – Thomas Reif (violin), Karel Bredenhorst (cello), Andreas Rokseth (bandoneon) and Martin Klett (piano) – are joined by Leonel Capitano (tenor) in a selection of songs from the ‘Golden Age of Tango’, which lasted from 1935 to 1952. Some of these were composed by musicians such as Osvaldo Pugliese and Horacio Salgán to lyrics by famous poets such as Homero Expósito, Enrique Cadicamo and Homero Manzi.
Poesía is the title of Cuarteto SolTango’s latest album, in which they celebrate the work of Argentinian poets who wrote the lyrics for songs from the ‘Golden Age of Tango’.
Before the proceedings, there will be a pre-concert podcast (in Turkish) by Ortaç Aydınoğlu entitled ‘Tango: From Lunfardo to Poesía’. It will be available from May 28 on Karnaval’s Spotify and Apple Music accounts, and on the İKSV’s Spotify account.
