September 5, 2026 – October 25, 2026

Ebru Duruman‘s Silent Presence is on view at Dirimart Pera from 17 September to 25 October 2026.

ISTANBUL, 4 SEPTEMBER 2026 — Dirimart is delighted to present Silent Presence, Ebru Duruman’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. Bringing together a new body of paintings, the exhibition explores the shifting boundaries of the self and the ways in which identity is continually reshaped by experience.

Ebru Duruman’s practice focuses on the dynamic interplay between the body and the emotional states. Weaving abstraction and figuration together, the artist portrays sexuality as a conduit connecting the body and the mind, exploring internal conflicts and sensory experiences through vibrant colours, fluid lines and aggressive brushstrokes.

In her new exhibition, Silent Presence, Duruman foregrounds the fluid relationship between the human body and nature. By interweaving figures with natural elements, the artist considers identity as a process continually shaped through experience, memory and transformation.

Beginning in a fragile space between who we were and who we are becoming, the exhibition, albeit drawn from a period of personal change, moves beyond autobiography to reflect on a shared experience of transformation. At the heart of the exhibition lies this question: how do we remain ourselves after life changes us?

In the exhibition, this question unfolds through the relationship between the body and nature. Bodies and landscapes grow into one another, blurring the boundaries between what is internal and what lies beyond. Bodies merge with forests, rivers and stone; landscapes grow through the human form; figures become entangled with one another; and faces repeat, fragment and disappear. Through these forms, Duruman makes the distinction between body, memory and landscape increasingly uncertain.

Ebru Duruman’s Silent Presence, in which identity is approached not as something fixed but as something living, capable of adapting, shifting and becoming, will be on view at Dirimart Pera from 17 September to 25 October 2026.
