“Studying East of Byzantium X: Communities” is a workshop for graduate students and recent PhDs focusing on the concept of “Community” in the medieval Christian East. It aims to explore the meaning and limits of this concept within the diverse traditions of the Christian East. The workshop will consist of three parts, including introductory sessions, research updates, and individual presentations, with a focus on the theme of communities. Doctoral students and recent PhDs studying the Christian East are eligible to apply by submitting abstracts and complete papers based on their research projects by specific deadlines. The workshop will take place virtually on Zoom.
