The powerful earthquakes in southwest Turkey and northern Syria in February 2023 caused significant damage and resulted in a high number of casualties. The focus now shifts from immediate rescue efforts to long-term reconstruction, with a need to address the needs of refugees and internally displaced people. The conversation organised by Columbia Global Centers and other institutions will explore the challenges of incorporating and supporting displaced communities in the reconstruction process, considering the geopolitical complexities involved.
