An excellent traditional lokanta (worker’s café) where photos of patrons (including some famous faces) grace the walls. There are fewer dishes available than in most other lokantas, but that is a good thing if choosing can sometimes be a chore.
Hünkar a few streets away is another quality, albeit more fancy, lokanta. At Mutfak, you can enjoy meals cooked by the previous cook to the granddaughter of the last caliph. For more Western-inspired dining, head to The House Café, Den Café, Cookshop or Delicatessen, all nearby.
