Selections from Heitor Villa-Lobos’s nine Bachianas Brasileiras suites; David Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody, Opus 68; Michel Portal’s Cuba si, Cuba no; an arrangement by Vincent Peirani of Kryštof Mařatka’s Csardas III (originally written for violin and piano); arrangements by the Salque-Peirani duo of Astor Piazzolla’s Armaguedon and his Argentine Song (does this mean his 1948 República Argentina, I wonder?); and a medley of Romanian melodies arranged by Stéphane Grappelli, François Salque and Vincent Peirani.
This event will take place in the garden of the French Diplomatic Residence or ‘Palais de France’, in Tomtom Kaptan Sokak. There will be a name check at the door, so ticket holders are required to bring ID with them.
