The Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre (Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Açıkhava Tiyatrosu) is one of the city’s most popular venues for summer events. Situated on the slopes leading down from Harbiye towards the Dolmabahçe Stadium and the Bosphorus, it sits directly below the Istanbul Congress Centre (which is next to the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre), and beside and below the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel. Managed by the Greater Istanbul Municipality, it is named after Cemil Topuzlu (1866-1958), a former Mayor of Istanbul. To get there on foot, go down through the famous ‘Cats’ Park’ beside the Harbiye Military Museum. At the bottom of the park, turn right along the main road that goes down the hill towards Dolmabahçe. At the end of the park area on your right, veer right up the slope, entering Taşkışla Caddesi, and follow this road round to your right.
