The Istanbul Research Institute and the Pera Museum are hosting an international virtual conference that aims to provide insights into the complex layers of Istanbul’s urban landscape, bringing together innovative studies in the field of environmental history, political ecology, and critical art studies.
Istanbul Unbound is organised in collaboration with the Turkish branch of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the independent political think tank. Its partners are a number of organisations with ecological objectives: the collective birbuçuk (one-and-a-half), IstanbuLab (a platform for science, technology and and society) and Occupy Climate Change!, all endorsed by the European Society for Environmental History and the Network for the Study of the Environmental History of Turkey.
