Mitte

Osmanağa Mah. İhlas Sokak 4/A, Kadıköy, Istanbul

When coming from Kadıköy ferry terminals, Mitte is a few blocks behind the Süreyya Opera House. If you reach Yoğurtçu Park, you’ve gone too far.

A little piece of Berlin in Istanbul, Mitte draws in the hip Kadıköy and Moda crowd with its al fresco dining, healthy fare and prompt service. What sets Mitte apart from other trendy cafes is their dedication to using only the highest quality ingredients. There’s nothing more relaxing than a leisurely brunch spent nibbling on crunchy sourdough bread, fresh butter, homemade jams or avocado on toast in the cafe’s leafy front garden.

To learn more about the lower reaches of the Asian coast, check out the 56-page spread on the Anatolian shore in Cornucopia 52. In it, Andrew Finkel introduces Kadıköy, and Harriet Rix mooches around the district of Moda.
