A shop specialising in products from the countries of the former Ottoman Empire. A wonderful find in this charming town, just outside of Amsterdam, a five-minute walk from the Frans Hals Museum. The owners Maarten ten Böhmer and Tara Strategier, take a pre-Baroque Ottoman world as their starting point. Elegant simplicity is the keynote and it fits a Dutch setting perfectly. Whenever possible, they bring their children along on all their search for artisans across the old Ottoman Empire – Tara’s own passion was sparked when she was just 14, and her pession for design and Ottoman architecture has grown ever since.
