Esma Sultan Palace

Marmara Esme Sultan Sarayı, Ortaköy, Istanbul

A rather remarkable Bosphorus venue. The ruined shell of a late-19th-century waterside palace belonging to a daughter of the Ottoman sultan, imaginatively ‘unrestored’, but with glass walls constructed within the masonry building. The quay is a popular venue for jazz concerts outdoors in summer. Alif Art hold their fine-art auctions here. And of course weddings keep the place busy all year round. The venue is managed by The Marmara Hotel.
