Papers from a wide range of disciplines will be presented, including those connecting Byzantium and neighboring Christian Medieval traditions with Islamic art, architecture, and culture.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Helen C. Evans, and Mary and Michael Jaharis Curator for Byzantine Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be speaking on the upcoming exhibition about medieval Armenia.
On the Saturday morning Prof. Robert Ousterhout will give a paper ‘Reading Aesop in Cappadocia’.
