Unit Four: The Cornucopia Room, 4 Towerdykeside, Hawick TD9 9EA

Direct from this years Edinburgh Fringe, we are delighted to welcome classical guitarist Luca Villani and soprano Silvia Mirachi to Cornucopia, Unit Four for a concert of music from John Dowland (1563–1626) to the contemporary Leo Brouwer, including operatic arias and Spanish songs.

Luca Rinaldo Villani was born in Varese in 1963 and has been on the international music scene since 1984. He is also a teacher and composer, having made transcriptions of Bach, Mozart, and Stravinsky, which challenge the technical and expressive limits of the guitar. He has released a number of CDs and DVDs and has been a regular visitor to Edinburgh for the Festival.

Silvia Mirachi has a repertoire inspired by the Italian bel canto, is a composer and has also contributed to the Funk & World album produced by Rai Trade. She performs as a soloist in Renaissance music concerts in Italy and abroad and her wider repertoire includes Anatolian love songs, Catalan ballads and the Aragonese Songs of the 15th century.
