Ekin Keser’s solo exhibition “I Searched for Something Within Myself” at Mixer features a variety of media, including photographs and found objects, and explores the fundamental similarities that exist between people. Keser seeks to propose a common language to his audience through these stories, questioning the relationship between society and the individual. The exhibition features several works, including “The Unsifted,” which uses old family photographs and his mother’s favorite sieve collection to symbolize his strong bond with those who cannot be sifted. Through his works, Keser disrupts society’s mechanisms of power and creates breathing spaces, marking the beginning of a journey towards self-discovery and reflection.
