Salt Beyoğlu will host the ‘In the Realm of Three Inland Seas’ exhibition, featuring the extensive work of Handan Börüteçene, a dedicated artist focusing on archaeology, history, and nature for over 40 years. The exhibition brings together Börüteçene’s early works, the award-winning installation “Kır/Gör” (1985), terracotta series, and large-scale public sculptures, tracing her artistic journey that challenges amnesia and explores recurring themes. Börüteçene’s art is inspired by Istanbul’s rich history and her family’s influence, particularly her father’s archaeology books and visits to Istanbul Archeology Museums during her childhood. The exhibition also addresses the neglect of cultural heritage and artworks in Turkey, shedding light on her lost and deteriorated works.
