The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra provides the accompaniment for a full-scale opera with excellent soloists and two magnificent choruses. This spectacular performance of the 1820 opera by Gioachino Rossini is highly recommended. The libretto is based on an imaginary love story involving Sultan Mehmet II.
