The ‘Side by Side’ exhibition, featuring a selection of works by Melâhat and Eşref Üren, opens in Ankara on August 1.
The Türkiye İş Bankası Ankara Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition showcasing the artistic journey of Melahat and Eşref Üren, one of the most important couples in Turkish art. A special selection of 50 works, compiled from an exhibition that reached nearly 100,000 art lovers in Istanbul, will be on display for the people of Ankara from Saturday, August 1st, at the gallery located on the third floor of the Museum of Economic Independence in Ulus.
This special selection by the Üren couple, who settled in Ankara in 1939 and quickly became influential figures in the capital’s cultural and artistic life, includes paintings from the Türkiye İş Bankası Art Collection as well as caricatures, poems, sketches and letters.
The Türkiye İş Bankası Ankara Art Gallery, located within the Museum of Economic Independence, is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for free visits.
